Future dreams in pictures

Their enthusiasm is clearly seen when they talk about their dream jobs. Our series of photos captures the big dreams of five girls and young women who can imagine a future in science.

Alma, 11 years old

“Ever since I was little, I have dreamed of studying at university one day. I don’t know yet whether I’ll research exoplanets or explore the depths of the world’s oceans. In the meantime, I’m attending the children’s university and discovering space through my own telescope.”

Hannah, 17 years old

“My goal for the future is to develop new technologies as a research engineer – with physics as the foundation and a broad perspective beyond the conventional.”

Anne-Sophie, 19 years old

“I love really going deep into topics – psychology particularly fascinates me with its sheer diversity. I want to understand what’s behind seemingly everyday mental processes: How do we learn and think?”

Lea, 11 years old

“I like discussing things, solving problems and making sure that everything is fair. That’s why I want to be a judge”

Elena, 10 years old

“My personal dream is to become an astronaut. I want to know how big everything really is – the rockets, the planets, the sun and the entire solar system – and experience what it feels like to float and see the Earth from above”
